Christmas Lights & Cookie Delights

Every year the Fort Edward Chamber of Commerce hosts an event at the Fort Edward Yacht Basin to start off the Christmas season. It begins with a Christmas Show with the tree lighting. This year there were about 30 trees all beautifully decorated. You may dedicate a tree in memory of your loved ones. And after that, we all go across the street to the Fire House, for hot chocolate and cookies and Santa Claus! Have you all been good little boys and girls? Remember, Santa knows for sure. Here are some photos from the 2013 event:

Christmas Lights & Cookie Delights is generally on a Saturday evening at the end of November. If you wish to dedicate a tree, watch this Chamber website for the application form or contact Rene Farnsworth for details.

The show started at 6 PM with a group of school girls, known as Kristine Geer & The Ballard Oaks, singing Christmas Carols. That was fun!

... and then they turned on the Christmas Lights!

There were about 40 trees this year, all very pretty. The trees are individually sponsored by local folks in memory of lost loved ones, so this is known as Memory Lane.

Each tree is different. We provide the tree and the lights, and the sponsor adds their decorations.
